DCH Corner – Decatur County Hospital Adds Neurology Specialty Clinic

Decatur County Hospital will soon welcome a new service to our Specialty Clinic by providing Neurology services at DCH each month.

Neurology is the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system. The nervous system is a complex, sophisticated system that regulates and coordinates body activities. It has two major divisions 1) central nervous system. This includes the brain and the spinal cord. 2) Peripheral nervous system. This includes all other elements involved in neurologic function such as eyes, ears, skin, and other sense receptors.

Our provider will diagnose and treat the following conditions using advanced technology available at DCH, and through our partners: stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and other neurology disorders determined by the unique needs of his patients. The provider will also perform nerve conduction studies, and treat patients with diagnosed neuropathy.

Our neurology clinic fulfills a need identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment, and fits in with many services already available at DCH. Our provider will be able to use our mobile MRI, onsite PET/CT scanner, and work hand in hand with our LSVT Big and LSVT Loud programs which currently exist in our rehabilitation department.

For exceptional specialty health care, close to home, schedule an appointment in our Outpatient Clinic. Call 641-446-2285, or visit https://www.decaturcountyhospital.org/specialty-clinics/ to learn more.
