NOVEMBER 28, 2011
5:30P.M.
PRESENT: Guy Clark, Leon Kessel, Heidi Bell, Linda Chastain, Sherry Untiedt

I. CALL TO ORDER

Guy Clark called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
|
|
II. AGENDA APPROVAL
|
|
It was moved by Linda Chastain and seconded by Heidi Bell to approve the following amended agenda to include CHCSI letter and Health care Conference in accordance with the Code of Iowa Open Meetings Law. Motion carried.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
|
|
Linda Chastain has heard town's people are really excited about the building project.
|

IV. CONSENT AGENDA
|
|
It was moved by Leon Kessel and seconded by Sherry Untiedt to approve the following Consent Agenda items: (1) October 24, 2011 meeting minutes (2) October Accounts Payable/Payroll $451,937.16; $299,022.82 (3) accounts receivable write-offs $29,912.23 (4) CEO Report

V. MEDICAL STAFF REPORT
|
|
Dr. Richard has taught 2 ACLS & NRP classes this month. PALS classes are scheduled for next week.
There have been several sick patients these last few weeks.

VI. FINANCIAL REPORT
|
|
Tara Spidle presented the financial report for the month of October. The operating revenue for October was $701,686.10 with operating expenses totaling $707,206.40. Non operating revenue was $61,327.27. Net income for the month was $55,806.97. It was moved by Heidi Bell and seconded by Leon Kessel to approve the financial report for October. Motion carried.

There was no report.

VIII. PHYSICIAN APPOINTMENT/ REAPPOINTMENT
|
|
Following acknowledgment that the proposed appointment application David Studer, DO and re-appointments Beta Hamon, MD; Steven Navarro, CRNA; Valerie McKinely, CRNA; Jay Brewer, CRNA; Patricia Magle, MD; Joshua Tromblee, DO; Anish Keshwant, MD; Raydeen Derscheid, ARNP; Gregory Sachs, MD; Larry Richard, MD; Mark Hensley, ARNP; Anne Nelson, PA; Roberta Walburn, ARNP; David Dollins, DO; Amanda Mc Kinley, CRNA; to the DCH Medical Staff was recommended by the Medical Staff, Sherry Untiedt moved and Tom Thomas seconded the motion. Motion carried.

IX. ACTION ITEMS
|
|
Medical Gas Headwalls for Patient Care Ares in the New Hospital
The Board received two quotes from Modular Services Company and Hill-Rom bidding the head walls which contain our medical gases, communications and electrical connections. Hill-Rom is the apparent low-bidder in the amount of $25,116.64. Hill-Rom products are recommended to the Board.
A motion to approve the acquisition of the Hill-Rom headwall systems in the amount of $25,116.64 was made by Heidi Bell and seconded by Leon Kessel. Motion carried.
IV Pumps
The current lease on the Hospira IV pumps has expired and it is time to acquire new equipment. The Board received two proposals from Hospira, which is our purchasing group preferred vendor. Management recommends the outright purchase of this equipment.
A motion was made by Leon Kessel and seconded by Sherry Untiedt to approve the purchase of the (14) Plum A Infusion pumps and for (4) Lifecare PCA pumps in the total amount of $22,000.00. Motion carried.
December Board Meeting
The December Board meeting is scheduled to occur on Monday, December 26 and that is the legal Christmas holiday for the hospital staff.
A motion was made by Linda Chastain and seconded by Heidi Bell to combine the December and January meeting to be held on January 23, 2012. Motion carried.
CHCSI Letter
Lynn Milnes received a letter from the Community Health Center of Southern Iowa asking the hospital to consider deeding the property to CHCSI. The Board would like to get a legal opinion and get some questions answered before making a decision.
25th Annual Health care Conference Phoenix Arizona
Board members are to let Lynn know by Friday if anyone plans to attend this conference February 5th & 8th.
