Decatur County Hospital Administrator, Lynn Milnes, has announced the total amount for the construction portion of the replacement hospital $11,352.024.00. As of February  2012, contributions for this project is $159,522.17. Of that amount, $80,000 was pledged through the Decatur County Hospital Auxiliary.  The donor wall will be an outstanding memorial in the lobby of the new hospital.  There is plenty of opportunity to still be part of this excitement.  Donations of $500 and up will be recognized on the donor wall. Construction is well underway.  Milnes is pleased to announce that the parking lot outside the old main entrance of the hospital is now open. It is expected that the Specialty Clinic, Lab, and Radiology patients will use this new area along with the employees and visitors.  The south entrance will continue to be used for Cardiac, Pulmonary, and Physical Therapy patients. We have been blessed, with obviously, very favorable weather.  The exterior walls are complete ; alot of installation of above the ceiling ductwork is complete , and erection of the steel work has been completed with the exception of installing the decking for the remainder of the building.   There is interior sheet rock being installed daily and the electrician and plumber are ready to begin installation of actual equipment terminations up to the operating room suite.  We will continue to strive to pour flooring and increase the size of our workable space should winter conditions allow. The helistop is in full operation and working well.
