Tee Off for a Great Cause at the 20th Annual Friends of DCH Golf Tournament

A day on the golf course can make a lasting difference for patients and healthcare workers in our community. The Friends of Decatur County Hospital will host its 20th Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Leon Golf & Country Club.
The tournament will feature an 18-hole, four-person best shot format, with payouts awarded across three flights. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by a tee time of 8:30 a.m. The tournament is bar-available, and no carry-on beverages will be allowed.
More than a friendly competition, this annual event helps the Friends of DCH continue supporting Decatur County Hospital, its employees and the patients who depend on local care.
Supporting Better Care Close to Home
Known formerly as the Decatur County Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of DCH has supported the hospital since becoming a nonprofit organization in 2007. Through fundraising and community involvement, the organization helps provide resources that strengthen patient care and enhance the experience of patients, visitors and employees.
Past contributions have helped purchase important equipment and amenities, including:
- Lap pads for training manikins
- Transportation van
- Bariatric wheelchair
- Two wheelchairs with adjustable footrests
- Pediatric recovery recliner
- AccuVein vein-finding device
- Cardiac monitors
- Surgical tables
- Vital-sign monitors
- Patient-room chairs
- Community paramedicine program support
Friends of DCH also invests in the hospital’s employees by providing tuition assistance, gift shop savings and an annual pledge toward hospital building projects. These efforts help local healthcare professionals grow in their careers while supporting the hospital’s ability to provide high-quality care close to home.
Every golfer, sponsor and supporter of the tournament contributes to this important work. Participation helps fund tools, programs and improvements that directly benefit patients throughout Decatur County and the surrounding communities.
