Starting May 14, 2019, Decatur County Hospital will add a provider to our Outpatient Clinic to meet the unique health needs of women in Decatur County and the surrounding region.
Nominations are now being accepted at Decatur County Hospital for The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ®. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day.
At Decatur County Hospital, our mission is to deliver exceptional care, close to home. To live up to that mission, we have renewed our focus on our Skilled Care (Swing Bed) Program. Our Skilled Care service will allow you or a loved one to recover from a medical procedure or traumatic event close to home.
As evidence of the continued commitment of the Decatur County Hospital Board of Trustees, several Trustees have completed education courses to increase their knowledge of healthcare governance, leadership, and best practices.
Over the next three (3) months, Decatur County Hospital (DCH) will be partnering with Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa (CHCSI) and Decatur County Public Health (DCPH), to complete the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
Beginning in February, Decatur County Hospital will welcome two new physicians to continue to uphold our mission to “deliver exceptional care, close to home.”
In partnership with Mercy Health Network (MHN), the Decatur County Hospital Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Johnston as the new CEO of Decatur County Hospital.
Last week, Senator Charles Grassley visited Decatur County Hospital in Leon to discuss healthcare issues with hospital staff and board members. Senator Grassley’s visit started with a tour to view our patient rooms, nursing station, emergency services department, cardio-pulmonary office, outpatient clinic area, physical and occupational rehab department, and our new Senior Life Solutions program.
