September is National Preparedness Month, which aims at promoting emergency planning for families and communities. Click here to visit the official website of the Department of Homeland Security. The website has a ton of useful information on making disaster kits, formulating safety and financial plans, developing evacuation plans, and talking to your kids and family about what to do in an emergency.

Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the DCH Auxiliary scholarship! Amarillo Reyes will use this $1,500 scholarship to continue her education at DMACC to become a Respiratory Therapist. Each Tuesday, Decatur County Hospital offers an outpatient clinic to meet the unique health needs of women in Decatur County and the surrounding region. Dr. Earle M. Pescatore, Jr., DO, MHA, FACOG, visits DCH’s Outpatient Clinic each week to provide women’s health services, and will provide surgical services for advanced women’s health issues.
Decatur County Hospital will soon welcome a new service to our Specialty Clinic by providing Neurology services at DCH each month.

Beginning July 15th, DCH is excited to welcome a new Outpatient Clinic to our services. Elizabeth Allen will offer Rheumatology services and deliver exceptional care, close to home. Elizabeth “Libby” Allen is an APRN and Family Nurse Practitioner in Browning, Missouri. She graduated with honors in 2016.
