Welcome Dr. Viet Le | Surgical Oncologist

Dr. Viet Le, MD, FACS, is a highly skilled surgical oncologist dedicated to expanding access to advanced cancer care for patients throughout southern Iowa. Specializing in surgical oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and endocrine surgery, Dr. Le’s clinical expertise includes gastrointestinal cancers, tumors affecting the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, soft tissue malignancies, and endocrine disease.

Before joining Decatur County Hospital, Dr. Le practiced within a large healthcare system in central Iowa, where he cared for patients facing complex cancer diagnoses and utilized leading-edge surgical techniques to improve outcomes and recovery times. While he valued the resources available in a larger setting, Dr. Le felt called to bring that same level of specialized, world-class care closer to home for rural communities.

Passionate about increasing access to high-quality healthcare locally, Dr. Le believes patients should not have to travel long distances to receive expert cancer treatment. He takes pride in delivering personalized care in a compassionate manner, taking the time to understand each patient’s unique circumstances and guiding them through every step of their treatment journey with empathy and respect.
