Neurology Services at Decatur County Hospital

If you suffer from pain or decreased function due to a neurological condition, the DCH neurology clinic is here to help. Five days each month, Dr. Maher Loutfi visits the DCH Outpatient Clinic to address neurological conditions including:

  • Dementia
  • Epilepsy
  • Migraines
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Neuropathy (pain as a result of damage to the nerves)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Seizures
  • Stroke

Dr. Loutfi offers the following services to diagnose and treat neurological conditions:

  • Botox for migraines
  • General neurology consultation to diagnose neurological conditions
  • Nerve conduction studies / EMG to pinpoint nerve pain

Dr. Loutfi offers appointments on site at Decatur County Hospital on Monday-Friday during the 3rd week of each month. Dr. Loutfi received his medical degree from Damascus University, completed his neurology residency at the University of South Alabama, and completed a fellowship in Neurophysiology at Vanderbilt University.  Dr. Loutfi has been practicing neurology for over a decade.

Our neurology clinic fulfills a need identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment and helps us meet our mission to deliver exceptional care, close to home. Dr. Loutfi is able to use our mobile MRI and onsite PET/CT scanner to diagnose neurological conditions, and works hand in hand with our LSVT Big and LSVT Loud programs in our rehabilitation department to help treat patients with Parkinson’s disease.
