DCH Corner – All About Wound Care Therapy

Each week, we at Decatur County Hospital will be writing an article to give you more information about our services. We want to help educate you on specialty services you may not know are provided close to home.

After surgery or a serious injury, or if you have a reoccurring wound due to a health condition, your physician might prescribe wound care. If your doctor prescribes wound care, you have access to this high-quality service close to home. Decatur County Hospital offers wound care services for the following common needs:

  • Venous stasis/insufficiency
  • Post-operative wound care
  • Wound vac therapy
  • Diabetic ulcers/pressure injuries
  • Non-healing wounds
  • Burns

Most insurance companies cover these services, but we require a written order/referral from your provider/physician. Call our Rehabilitation Director, Melissa Smith P.T.A, CLT at 641-446-2219 to learn more about this program.
